It is that time of year when many begin to make the commitment to sacrifice something during the Lenten Season. This is an annual time of the year that Christians recognize as a time set apart to draw closer to God. If you were to google 'What Is Lent' you may find the following, "Lenten is the Season that prepares us for the commemoration of the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ. Lent has traditionally been marked by the expression of various spiritual disciplines, but the most prominent of them are praying and fasting" - Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church.

So, if you have never taken part in Lenten season, I encourage you to take some time out, dedicate time daily to reading God's Word and drawing closer to him. Write down what it is you are expecting God to do in you or your family's life. Our prayer journals are available here to help you started on your journey. There are several Bible Apps for Androids and iPhones that you can download which have Bible Study plans you can participate in during this time. In addition, I would encourage you to read Psalm 76:11-12; this scripture talks about making a 'Vow' to God. Also, read Job 22:28, the powerful words and prayer about 'Declare and Decree'. What are you believing God for during this season or during 2017? Take time to mediate on the promises God has already fulfilled and begin believing God can do exceedingly MORE than that in this season!
